Ponda: Parts of Ponda and Marcaim constituencies faced a water shortage on Tuesday evening after the drinking water department repaired a leaking pipeline joint at Dhavali on the outskirts of Ponda town.The leak had continued for two days. The department took up repairs after obtaining road-cutting permission from the authorities. During excavation, officials found that a joint on the distribution line had loosened.The joint was repaired, but the work disrupted water supply to Kapileshwari, Bandora, Talaulim, Durbhat, Agapur and parts of Ponda town. Supply was restored after the repairs were completed, an official said.This was the third pipeline-related incident affecting water supply in the area in recent months.
