CHANDIGARH: In a boost to the Jannayak Janta Party (JJP), former BJP Yuva Morcha state general secretary Mukesh Janjhontara joined the party along with hundreds of supporters in Panchkula on Tuesday. Former Haryana deputy chief minister and JJP leader Dushyant Chautala welcomed the new entrants, saying their induction would strengthen the party’s organisational base.The induction took place in the presence of JJP national general secretary Devender Kadiyan, with Janjhontara and his supporters formally joining the party by donning JJP scarves.Janjhontara has been active in politics for over 12 years and has held several organisational positions in the BJP, including state general secretary of the Chandigarh BJP SC Cell, Panipat district president of the BJP SC Morcha and Kurukshetra in-charge of the SC Morcha. He is also serving as Haryana state general secretary of the International Valmiki Army and is considered to have influence among Scheduled Caste communities across the state.Among those who joined the JJP with him were Abhishek Bohra, president of the Rajiv Colony Youth Mandal in Panchkula, Valmiki Army state general secretary Lucky, Valmiki Temple Committee president Akash, Gaurav Bohat, former BJP youth leader Saurabh Chauhan, and several other youth workers.Senior JJP leaders, including former Haryana Khadi Board chairman Rajendra Litani, former MLA Ramesh Khatak and Panchkula district president OP Sihag, were present at the event.
