Jayashankar Bhupalpally: An alcoholic son allegedly killed his father on Sunday night in Muddulapally village under Mutharam police station limits. The deceased was identified as Rathnam Saraiah (70).According to Mutharam sub-inspector G Ramesh, the accused, identified as Ravinder, a daily-wage labourer, used to frequently consume alcohol and allegedly beat his father, Saraiah. On Sunday evening, he argued with his father for division of property. After a heated argument, Ravinder left the residence and went to a liquor shop and consumed alcohol. Later, Ravinder returned home and attacked his father with an axe, who died on the spot. The neighbours informed the Mutharam police, who rushed to the spot. The body was shifted to Bhupalpally govt hospital for postmortem. A case has been registered and investigation is ongoing.
