Gurgaon: A 20-year-old delivery executive died on Wednesday after sustaining a gunshot wound to the forehead when a country-made pistol accidentally discharged at a house in Ballabgarh, Faridabad.The deceased, identified as Yogesh, a resident of Bhikam Colony, accompanied his friend Harsh to the home of an acquaintance, Abhay, on Tuesday afternoon to help move wheat sacks. While handling the sacks, the three men discovered a country-made pistol concealed inside one of them.“Preliminary probe revealed that they were examining the weapon when it accidentally discharged from Abhay’s hand, and the bullet struck Yogesh in the forehead,” said police spokesperson Yashpal.Yogesh was rushed to a private hospital in Sector 8 and later referred to another facility in Ballabgarh due to the severity of his injuries. He succumbed to his wounds the following day.Police have registered an FIR at the city police station and taken Abhay into custody for questioning. A murder case has also been filed against Abhay’s brother, who is believed to own the weapon and is currently absconding. Search teams have been deployed to trace and arrest him.Investigators are probing how the firearm came to be stored inside the sacks and brought to the location.
