Employees urge state govt to reopen IPR module as 2.65L fail to file returns

Jaipur: With nearly 2.65 lakh state employees yet to file their Immovable Property Returns (IPRs), the Akhil Rajasthan Rajya Karmachari Sanyukt Mahasangh (Eikikrit) has urged the Rajasthan govt to reopen the IPR module on the Rajkaj portal, saying the pending filings could affect annual increments, promotions, transfers and other service-related benefits of thousands of employees. In a letter to Chief Minister Bhajan Lal Sharma and chief secretary V Srinivas, the employees’ body said the online IPR filing system on the Rajkaj portal was introduced to promote transparency and improve administrative efficiency. However, it said many employees could not submit their returns within the stipulated deadline due to administrative, technical and personal reasons.According to data cited by the organisation, Rajasthan has 10,62,629 state employees, including 1,63,527 gazetted and 8,99,102 non-gazetted employees. So far, 7,97,675 employees have filed their IPRs, including 1,20,149 gazetted and 6,77,526 non-gazetted employees. The remaining 2,64,954 employees are yet to submit their returns, comprising 37,378 gazetted and 2,27,576 non-gazetted employees, the data showed.Mahasangh state president Gajendra Singh Rathore said the closure of the IPR module has left these employees with no mechanism to file their pending returns despite their willingness to comply. He urged the state govt to reopen the portal for a limited period to enable employees to complete the mandatory disclosures. The organisation said failure to reopen the module could create complications in matters related to annual salary increments, promotions, transfers and other service benefits, as filing of IPRs is linked to several administrative processes.Rathore said he was hopeful the state govt would take a positive decision and provide relief to lakhs of govt employees.
