Mumbai Police Probe Suspected Hit-and-Run Death on WEH in Malad
On Sunday, police were informed about a man found injured on WEH and his relatives taking him to the hospital. Doctors pronounced him dead on admission.

Mumbai: After a man was found dead on the Western Express Highway (WEH) at Malad East on Sunday, preliminary police investigation has revealed that he could have been the victim of a hit-and-run accident. Dindoshi Police have recorded an accidental death case and are probing further.On Sunday, police were informed about a man found injured on WEH and his relatives taking him to the hospital. Doctors pronounced him dead on admission. He was identified as Suraj Salunke, 30. While the post-mortem examination report is awaited, police said they spotted vehicle tyre marks on Salunke’s thigh. They then checked CCTV footage of the location where he was found injured. They found images of him going to a liquor shop to buy a bottle of liquor. But there is no CCTV footage of the circumstances leading to his death.Police believe he may have been run over by a vehicle and the motorist fled without helping him. Salunke worked at a cable shop and lived at Tanaji Nagar in Malad East.
