Rajkot: A dispute over unpaid loan escalated into a murder after a 28-year-old man was stabbed multiple times by six men in Khakhrechi village of Morbi’s Maliya Miyana taluka post Tuesday midnight.The victim Anil Kandaniya was attacked around 1am at the grounds of a hotel.The complaint lodged by Kandaniya’s friend Vivek Patel at the Maliya Miyana police station alleged that the assailants were sent by Shivam Rabari of Hothal Finance. Patel and Kandaniya were at Dhairya Hotel for a snack when five people— Ramesh Rabari, Kishan Chauhan, Pruthvirajsingh Zala, Hira Ulva, and Gulam Pathan — arrived in a car. All were armed with knives.Patel alleged that the group confronted Kandaniya, questioning him about the repayment of money borrowed from Rabari. As the confrontation escalated, Chauhan allegedly stabbed him first, followed by Ramesh Rabari and the others. When Patel attempted to intervene and save his friend, he was also stabbed by Zala.Kandaniya was first rushed to Morbi govt hospital via the 108 emergency service and was later transferred to Rajkot Civil Hospital where he died.The police has launched a search to nab the accused.
