LUCKNOW: Most parts of Uttar Pradesh received normal rainfall during the ongoing monsoon season so far, with the IMD classifying rainfall in 29 districts as normal, while 10 districts recorded excess rainfall and 21 remained in the deficient category.According to the latest rainfall distribution chart issued by the Meteorological Centre, Lucknow, no district has reported large excess or large deficient rainfall so far this season. The rainfall distribution indicates that a majority of districts have received near-normal monsoon precipitation, although rainfall deficits persist across 21 districts.The India Meteorological Department’s (IMD) rainfall data showed that the highest rainfall during the 24-hour period ending 8:30 am on Saturday was recorded in the Sonbhadra district at 85.4 mm, followed by 75.2 mm in Mirzapur, 70.6 mm in Chandauli, 64.4 mm in Varanasi, and 61.4 mm in Sant Kabir Nagar.Several other eastern and central Uttar Pradesh districts also received moderate to fairly widespread rainfall, supporting the forecast of continued wet conditions over eastern parts of the state.The IMD has forecast rain and thundershowers at a few places across Uttar Pradesh on Sunday, while heavy rainfall is very likely at isolated places in eastern Uttar Pradesh.In Lucknow, the maximum temperature on Saturday settled at 34.4 degrees Celsius, 0.3 degrees above normal, while the minimum temperature was recorded at 25.4 degrees Celsius, 0.5 degrees below normal.The weather office has forecast a partly cloudy sky for the state capital on Sunday, with the maximum and minimum temperatures likely to be around 35 degrees Celsius and 27 degrees Celsius, respectively.
