Mumbai: After the disqualification of AIMIM corporator Roshan Shaikh on Wednesday, another corporator, this time from the NCP, was disqualified on Friday after their caste certificate was declared invalid. Mayor Ritu Tawde announced this during the general body meeting of the civic body on Friday. Bushra Malik from the NCP represented ward number 170 in Kurla East. A total of four corporators have so far been disqualified so far on similar grounds.Last month, Shiv Sena (UBT) corporator Deepak Sawant, who was elected from ward number 111 in the S-Ward in Bhandup, and AIMIM corporator Sameer Ramzan Patel, who was elected from ward number 137 in Govandi, were disqualified after the caste certificates they had submitted with their nomination papers for the Feb civic elections were invalidated by the verification committee.The corporators who have been disqualified, have moved the courts and are hoping to retain their seats after a positive verdict from the courts.
