Two killed in separate hit-and-run cases near Manesar, Sohna; woman critical in third accident

Gurgaon: Two persons, including a 28-year-old motorcyclist and a Class 12 student, were killed in separate hit-and-run incidents in Manesar and Sohna, while a woman was left critically injured in another accident, police said on Wednesday.In the first incident, Ashish (28), a native of Mainpuri in Uttar Pradesh, died after his motorcycle was hit by an unidentified vehicle on the Delhi-Jaipur highway near the NSG campus in Manesar early Tuesday. Ashish, who worked at a private company in Bawal and lived near Bawal Chowk in Rewari, had come to Gurgaon on Sunday to deliver goods to his brother and was returning when the accident occurred.According to a complaint filed by his brother Himanshu, Ashish was riding his Apache motorcycle towards Bawal when a speeding vehicle struck him and fled. The incident came to light around 7.30am after the family was informed. Police shifted the body to Civil Hospital, Sector 10A, for postmortem. A case has been registered under Sections 281 (rash driving) and 106 (causing death by negligence) of BNS against an unidentified driver.In the second case, Vineet (17), a Class 12 student and resident of Raisina village in Sohna, was killed late Tuesday evening after his motorcycle was hit by an unknown vehicle. He was on his way to Sohna Dhani when the collision occurred. The impact threw him into a roadside drain. Locals pulled him out and rushed him to hospital, where he was declared dead on arrival. Police have registered a case and are examining CCTV footage to identify the vehicle.In a third incident, Megha Gautam, a resident of Ghaziabad, was critically injured after a bike taxi she was travelling on was hit by a speeding vehicle on the Delhi-Mumbai Expressway near Badshahpur. She was returning to Noida after meeting her sister in Gurgaon. The rider, Kishan, also sustained injuries.“Teams are examining CCTV footage from the stretch to identify the vehicle involved and trace the driver. Further investigation is underway,” an officer said.
