Agartala: Tripura has emerged as one of the fastest-growing states in the nation, with its Gross State Domestic Product (GSDP) doubling in just six years, CM Manik Saha said at the Tripura Destination – Business Conclave on Thursday.Highlighting the state’s abundant natural resources, Saha mentioned the presence of natural gas, rubber plantations, GI-tagged Queen Pineapple, agarwood, bamboo species, and horticulture base. He also said Tripura is also the third state to achieve full literacy and boasts a substantial pool of technical and skilled manpower.The two-day conclave, which will conclude on Friday, brought together over 500 business leaders, promoters, industrialists, and entrepreneurs. Over 300 investors from across the country attended the event, along with ambassador of Chile, high commissioners of South Africa, Kazakhstan, Uzbekistan and Philippians.Saha said the state has achieved first place among all states and Union Territories in Deregulation and Compliance Reduction Phases I and II.Seeking more investments, the CM emphasised the availability of govt land on lease for social, educational, and commercial projects at competitive rates.Tripura received investment proposals exceeding Rs 30,000 crore last year, with projects worth more than Rs 8,000 crore already underway.Union DoNER minister Jyotiraditya M Scindia and Union commerce and industries minister Piyush Goyal joined the event virtually from New Delhi and urged investors to consider Tripura as their next investment destination.
