Bhiwandi: The Special Investigation Team (SIT) of the Thane police probing the TET paper leak case has arrested two more accused from Patna, taking the investigation further into the alleged interstate network behind the leak. With the arrest of two, the number of arrested accused reached up to 12.The arrested accused have been identified as Pawan Yadav and Hariom Singh. Both were produced before a Bhiwandi court on Wednesday, which remanded them in police custody till July 13.According to police sources, CCTV footage collected during the investigation showed Pawan Yadav in the company of previously arrested accused Kapil Dahiya and Dheeraj Singh. Investigators are examining Yadav’s role and his alleged involvement in the conspiracy.The SIT has also unearthed financial transactions between Yadav and the case’s absconding alleged mastermind Bijendra Gupta, Gupta’s wife Suman, and another accused. Police suspect the transactions are linked to the paper leak racket and are scrutinising the money trail to establish the flow of funds.The second arrested accused, Hariom Singh, is alleged to have booked the flight tickets used to transport the leaked examination paper from Delhi to Mumbai. Investigators believe the booking was part of the larger conspiracy to circulate the leaked question paper before the examination.Police suspect that both the newly arrested accused were working in coordination with the accused already in custody as well as the absconding members of the syndicate.The two accused were produced before the Bhiwandi court along with the six earlier arrested accused who were already in police custody. The court remanded four accused to judicial custody. However, the police secured a two-day extension of custody for Kapil Dahiya and Sanjay Sharma for further interrogation. The court separately granted police custody of Pawan Yadav and Hariom Singh till July 13.According to police sources, the SIT continues its search for the alleged mastermind Bijendra Gupta and another absconding accused. Raids are being conducted in multiple states as investigators attempt to dismantle the entire network involved in the alleged TET paper leak.
