GURGAON: Haryana Chief Electoral Officer A. Srinivas has directed election officials to work in “mission mode” with only six days remaining for the Special Intensive Revision (SIR)-2026 campaign, warning that any negligence or delay will invite strict disciplinary action.Reviewing the campaign’s progress in Gurgaon on Wednesday, Srinivas emphasised that an accurate and error-free voter list forms the foundation of democracy. He directed Booth Level Officers (BLOs) to maximise outreach in urban areas like Gurgaon by conducting intensive door-to-door visits on weekends, targeting residents who are away at workplaces during weekdays.Deputy Commissioner and District Election Officer Uttam Singh confirmed that BLOs across the district’s four assembly constituencies are actively distributing and collecting enumeration forms. Singh reiterated the administration’s zero-tolerance policy towards delays, stating that regular audits are being conducted and any official found underperforming will face immediate action under service rules. The Chief Electoral Officer also appealed to citizens to submit their completed enumeration forms before the July 14 deadline instead of waiting until the last day. Early submission will ensure sufficient time for data digitisation, portal uploads, and correction of any clerical errors.“Residents whose homes have not yet been visited by a BLO have been urged to proactively visit their local polling stations or contact their designated election officials to submit their details,” said Srinivas. The review meeting was attended by senior district administration officials, including Municipal Corporation Gurugram Additional Commissioner Ankita Choudhary, along with Electoral Registration Officers and Sub-Divisional Magistrates (SDMs) of Badshahpur, Pataudi, Gurugram, and Sohna.
