Hyderabad: Roads and buildings minister Komatireddy Venkat Reddy on Tuesday launched road infrastructure works worth ₹338 crore under the hybrid annuity model (HAM) and laid foundation for 14 road projects covering 149 km across Ibrahimpatnam, Maheshwaram, Medchal and LB Nagar constituencies.Addressing a public meeting at Thorrur village in Ibrahimpatnam mandal, the minister said the Congress govt was undertaking infrastructure development beyond political considerations with the objective of building roads that would become a benchmark.Stating that Telangana has embarked on one of the largest road modernisation programmes, Komatireddy Venkat Reddy said 441 roads covering 6,092 km were being developed at a cost of ₹13,000 crore under 34 HAM packages.The newly launched works form part of this flagship initiative aimed at improving connectivity, road safety and economic activity. Minister Komatireddy said the ₹338-crore package includes the development of major corridors connecting Hayathnagar–Thorrur–Koheda–Anajpur, Anajpur–Abdullapurmet–Bandaraviryal, Hayathnagar–Kuntloor–Pasumamula–Taramatipet, Sagar Road–Injapur–Thorrur–Brahmanpally–Ragannaguda and Sagar Road–Injapur–Hayathnagar.The roads would be upgraded into modern four-lane corridors with central lighting and enhanced safety features, benefiting rapidly expanding suburban areas. The minister said the projects would significantly reduce traffic congestion, improve road safety, enhance regional connectivity and generate employment and investment opportunities.He reiterated that the govt’s vision was to provide high-quality roads that support Telangana’s future growth and set new standards in infrastructure development.Speaking on the occasion, MP Chamala Kiran Kumar Reddy said the govt has accorded top priority to roads, education, healthcare and other civic infrastructure in Ibrahimpatnam constituency. MLA Malreddy Ranga Reddy termed the sanction of ₹338 crore for road development as a historic milestone for the constituency and said several other development initiatives were progressing.TSRDC chairman Malreddy Ram Reddy said the expansion of major roads into four-lane corridors would strengthen connectivity and accelerate balanced regional development.
