New Delhi: In the first week, over 76.3 lakh enumeration forms have been distributed in the capital under the ongoing special intensive revision (SIR) of the electoral rolls. The exercise has so far covered 52.6% of the capital’s 1.4 crore electors as of July 6.Among the distributed forms, 2,78,070 have been digitised, accounting for 1.9% of the total electorate. Officials said that to assist people in filling the forms, special camps are likely to be organised so as to speed up the process of digitisation. “The camps are likely to be held in areas where the digitisation of the forms is lower,” said an official. The distribution of the enumeration forms began from June 30, and will continue till July 29.Among Delhi’s 13 districts, New Delhi has emerged as the best-performing district with 1,03,614 forms distributed, covering 67.2% of its electorate. It is followed by Old Delhi, where 3,68,130 forms have been distributed, taking coverage to 61.7%. North Delhi is third with 5,76,565 forms (59.2%), followed by West Delhi with 8,57,123 forms (58.9%) and North West Delhi with 7,46,032 forms (58.4%). The remaining districts with more than 50% coverage are Central North Delhi (4,43,380 forms; 54.3%), South Delhi (7,28,647; 54.2%), North East Delhi (10,01,304; 53.5%) and East Delhi (8,04,233; 50.2%).According to the data shared by the office of the chief electoral officer Monday, Outer North Delhi has achieved 49.4% coverage with 4,11,252 forms, followed by Central Delhi (3,30,366 forms; 47.3%), South West Delhi (6,04,346 forms; 45.4%) and South East Delhi, which remains the slowest-moving district with 6,63,425 forms distributed, covering 42.6% of its electorate.North East Delhi, the largest electoral district, has crossed the 10 lakh mark with 10,01,304 forms distributed, the highest in the city. It is followed by West Delhi (8,57,123), East Delhi (8,04,233), North West Delhi(7,46,032) and South Delhi (7,28,647).The poll panel has said the exercise is aimed at ensuring no eligible voter is left out from the electoral roll while removing ineligible names like those who shifted or died.
